Designed to be feature rich and easy to use, Equator is a truly integrated product written entirely by K3. At its core is the Equator database, residing on the Microsoft SQL platform, which alleviates the need for duplication of data entry and provides across module reporting. Core functionality in the HR module includes Recruitment, Training, Health and Safety including PPE and equipment recording, COSHH and RIDDOR requirements along of course with the required features for calculating pay from captured data and satisfying all the HMRC requirements for information submission.

The Equator Employee Portal has allowed us to stop distributing 3 paper reports each month for employees who can now log in at anytime to view attendance, overtime and holiday detail rather than wait until payday. Because we have been able to get staff details so much quicker, the HR team have managed to focus on other important areas of the business. Although we have had Equator implemented for the last 16 years, we are continuously finding new ways to use the software to make the tasks associated with payroll and HR much easier. We told K3 exactly what we needed in order to automate this process and allow for easy access to staff information at the click of a button and they developed an additional module for Equator to allow for automated timesheets, It has become a real time saver for us and enables us to better manage our staff working time
We offer a number of internal and external training courses to our staff and these are often spread out over an agreed period of time. It is always reassuring to know that K3 is only a phone call away should we ever need any additional functionality within equator. The software is constantly evolving as we grow as a company and it has been a really integral part of helping us get to the size we are now. There is a worry whenever you buy software as a business, that it will quickly become outdated and your total cost of ownership will become very high but this is not the case with equator. Due to the nature of business we are in, we always have to stay up-to-date with changes in payroll and employment legislation to ensure that our client’s staff are paid accurately and within the law. Having equator helps us to do this because we receive automatic updates in line with these changes, therefore the payroll process remains streamlined
I use Equator Payroll for two weeks every month and it really helps me to manage salary changes, deductions, bonuses, sick pay, RTI and individual employee reports. It really is a really convenient and useful solution to have and enables me to gain financial information really quickly. If an employee asks for a copy of their payslip I can instantly print them one off from Equator and can even search through the archives for an older payslip if necessary
